1984

Orwell, George - Personal Name;

1984 by George Orwell is a dystopian novel set in a totalitarian society ruled by the Party, led by the figurehead known as Big Brother. The protagonist, Winston Smith, works for the Party rewriting history to align with its propaganda. In this oppressive world, individuality is suppressed, surveillance is constant, and truth is manipulated. Winston begins to question the Party's authority and starts a forbidden relationship with Julia, leading to his rebellion against the system. Orwell's novel explores themes of surveillance, censorship, mind control, and the dangers of absolute power, making it a powerful critique of authoritarian regimes.
